When studying abroad, I took an integrated product design program which specialized in learning about the sustainable inventions within Europe. I found Germany to be very advanced in their efforts towards creating a more sustainable and environmentally friendly country. My end of the semester project was to create and design a sustainable product which only uses compressed air to function. We brainstormed, built, and presented our invention at the end of the year fair and gained immense recognition for our unique and very thought out creation.
PROTOTYPE
How does it work?
When heating up the water for the coffee machine, we switch the usage and make use of the hot-air-end. Compressed air is pushed into the vortex from a generator. It enters the vortex spin chamber. Through this fast pace, the air stream revolves toward the hot end of the device, where it heats up the water.
BROCHURE
The brochure was created as a way to help explain to students at the show, the complex functionality of the machine. The light and airy appearance of the brochure, mimicked the same ideas as the machine itself.
